We understand that from time to time the people that use our services may encounter an obstacle that inhibits their full participation in our service or the community.

Types of barriers you may encounter

Physical Barriers:

This is when there’s something in the way that stops a person from getting the help they need. It could be a door that’s too small or a place that’s hard to get into.

Attitude Barriers:

This is when people treat someone in a way that makes them uncomfortable or makes it hard for them to get help. Like when they don’t listen to what the person needs or they believe bad things about them.

Environmental Barriers:

This means that the place where you go for help has things that make it difficult to get what you need. It could be a place that’s not safe or doesn’t feel nice.

Financial Barriers:

Sometimes, you can’t get the help you need because you don’t have enough money. This is a barrier that’s all about money.

Communication Barriers:

This happens when someone has trouble telling others what they need. It’s like speaking a different language or having a hard time saying what you want.

Transportation Barriers:

If you can’t get to the place where you need help because you don’t have a way to travel there, that’s a transportation barrier.

Community Integration Barriers:

This means that things get in the way of a person being part of their community. It could be because they’re treated differently or they can’t do things they want to do in their community.

Other Barriers:

Sometimes, there are other things that make it tough to get help, and these can be different for each person. It’s important to listen to what people say about what’s making it hard for them to get the help they need.
